Vermicular Asphyxiation

The video for Blotted Science’s “Vermicular Asphyxiation” is back after being down for months for copyright nonsense and that’s a good thing because this song is incredible. Blotted Science wrote this to sync up with scenes from Slither note for note. A word of warning: this video is not for the squeamish.

In other music news, I picked up my guitar today after months of hiatus. I’m so weird about playing. It’s so dependent on my mood and the right song has to strike me. I was relearning chunks of RHCP’s “Scar Tissue”, which is one of my favorites. The solos are just so soulful, not to mention they’re almost all slide notes and largely played on one string. It’s a testament to John Frusciante that he could write solos that sound so good and yet are actually really easy to play. I’ve a hankering to learn QOTSA’s “Little Sister” too.

The rig. Yes, that’s a totally badass “Abbey Road” poster.

    • Yeah, it wasn’t a great movie anyway. The whole album is a really neat concept album, where each song is based off of a terrible horror movie and oddly King Kong (the Peter Jackson one). Cretaceous Chasm is an awesome track. I love how the percussion syncs up with the machete slashing and the machine gun fire.
